How do I build an effective marketing strategy for Shopify stores?

For starters, you’ll want to use us. But if you’re here looking for some initial information, that’s cool too. We always recommend starting by talking to your (dream) customers. Ask them where they hang out online, what companies they buy from, what they love to see online, and what they can’t stand. When in doubt, pull your initial inspiration from your competitors.

Full-funnel marketing strategies can be overwhelming. If you haven’t started, we don’t recommend trying everything at once. Test a few things (small paid ads, social media posting, etc.) and see what works. It’s always better to start with something then wait until it’s all perfect (which it will never be).

Also, please set up at least one abandoned cart email to remind customers to complete their purchases. If you need help troubleshooting, we’re always here for you.

What is the difference between a growth hacking agency & a marketing agency?

There are two main factors: focus and approach.

A growth agency drives measurable and scalable growth for businesses (usually in sprints). It focuses on strategies and tactics aimed at increasing revenue, customer base, and overall business expansion. It also adopts a data-driven and performance-oriented approach.

How do I find my customers online?

The better question is: how do your customers find you online?

If we’re talking about full-funnel strategies, this would be the top of your funnel (also known as the acquisition phase).

First, we recommend looking at your Shopify dashboard to identify where your converting customers are coming from. Are they coming from email? Facebook? Direct Search?

Once you discover where and how your customers are converting, you can start building a strategy to magnify efforts for the converting content and help more customers find you.

What is a good Shopify marketing strategy?

A good Shopify marketing strategy has 4 parts:

Awareness – Your customers need to know you exist. And, you have to tempt them to your website. This can be through social media, referrals, paid ads with a special first-time discount, and more. Your data will tell you. Follow it!

Consideration – Once customers get to your website, you need to figure out how to convert them quickly. This means having a clear, defined value proposition that excites customers with an easy (read: 3-4 clicks) path to purchase.

Conversion – As soon as they’re excited, it’s time to take them home. This can be a simple path to purchase (3 clicks from the home page to add to cart) or reminder emails.

Retention – After a customer purchases one time, they’re more likely to convert again. Remind them to buy, show them other products, touch base with them and become part of their every day/month/year buying journey.

With all of the parts calibrated to your data, the gap in your growth reduces drastically.
